Join us at the Jackson Fork Ranch for our annual Bison Round-Up Weekend

October 31st - November 2nd, 2014

Every Fall, at our working bison ranch, we round up our entire herd and put them through the chutes to check and monitor their general condition.

This year we have put together an exciting three-day, two-night package to share this unique opportunity and to experience the actual weaning process.

It is a fascinating chance to see how we administer a medical protocol for both calves and adults, weighing each, tagging the calves, and assessing the general condition of each animal.

The weekend starts Friday, October 31st, 2014 with Dr. Robin Parker DVM who will share some background on these beautiful beasts and detail the purposes and reasons for the roundup.

After a four-course dinner including our own gourmet-prepared bison in the Ranch House, you will enjoy our local Mountain Man who will deliver an animated presentation of mountain man life during the late 1800s demonstrating how early valley settlers and trappers relied on the bison for almost everything in their lives.

The next morning features a hearty breakfast followed by a short hike to the bison-viewing stand that over-looks the bison pens. You will be able to experience up close how ranch-hands herd the bison into the corrals where the veterinarian will give them their check-ups. This is a great time to capture the power and beauty of these animals with pictures and video - all up close and personal.

A fresh, hearty lunch follows the morning roundup and your afternoon is open to horseback riding, casting a late fall line in the Hoback River, or a trip back to the bison roundup area.

Before another gourmet dinner, all guests will go on a carriage ride through our spectacular valley pulled by our award-winning ranch Percheron team of horses. After dinner, you will be treated to the entertaining Miss Vi, a wonderful local musician whos own songs sing-alongs will put a memorable coda on the evening as we gather around a roaring camp fire.

Sunday you will wake up to a huge brunch before planning your departures.

This is your (you and familys) rare opportunity to experience the native Wild West as it really was in the 1800s but all in the comfort of The Lodge at Jackson Fork Ranch. Winter at Jackson Fork Ranch

Call or email (info@jacksonfork.com 866.953.01290) for reservations or with any questions and we will see you at the Roundup!

As always you are welcome to fish the waters on the ranch at no additional cost. There is a fee for any guided fishing or guided horseback rides.

Cost for two people sharing a room is $1375.00 for lodge accommodations.  Rate does not include sales tax.
